This Privacy Policy explains how Vmart LLC ("Vmart," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use our website at www.vmart.market, the Vmart mobile app, our phone and text messaging services, and any related services (together, the "Services").

Vmart is an online advertising marketplace. Individuals and businesses pay Vmart to place advertisements and business listings so that others can find them. Vmart does not sell goods or services between users and does not process payments between buyers and sellers.

By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the Services. This Privacy Policy is part of our Terms of Service.

Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Account information: your name, email address, email verification status, and account ID from the sign-in provider you use to create your account, plus any phone number and business name you add.
  • Listing content: the text, photos, prices, locations, and contact details you include in your ads and business profiles.
  • Business claim information: information and documents you provide to verify your connection to a business, such as a business email, a business phone number, a business license, or a professional license.
  • Communications: messages you send us by email, phone, text message, or through the Services, including voicemails and call notes, and records of when you accepted our Terms of Service.
  • Payment information: billing name, billing address, and payment card details, which are collected and processed by our payment processor (see Section 6).

Information we collect automatically

  • Device and usage information: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, app version, pages viewed, links clicked, the dates and times of your requests, error logs, and your language setting.
  • Location information: your approximate location based on your IP address, and, if you allow it in the app, your device's precise location to show listings near you.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 7.

Public business directory information

Vmart may list businesses in its directory before the owner creates an account. This information comes from public sources, such as state licensing agencies, professional registries, and other publicly available business records, and may include a business name, address, phone number, license type, and hours. Owners or authorized representatives can claim, correct, or request removal of these pages at any time (see Section 10).

How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • Create and manage your account, and publish, display, and renew your ads and business profiles
  • Process payments for advertising fees and send receipts and renewal notices
  • Verify business claims and help prevent fraud, spam, and misuse of the Services
  • Respond to your questions and provide customer support by email, phone, and text message
  • Send account notifications, such as listing approvals, expirations, and payment updates
  • Show listings near you when you allow location access
  • Maintain, secure, analyze, and improve the Services
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as described below.

  • Publicly, as you choose: the content of your ads and business profiles, including any contact details you add, is visible to anyone who uses the Services. This includes your profile name, handle, city, and state, and the email address or phone number you choose to show on each published listing. Please do not post government ID numbers, financial account information, or a private home address.
  • Service providers: companies that help us operate the Services, such as account sign-in, data storage, website and app hosting, payment processing (Stripe), phone and text messaging (Nextiva), email delivery, and analytics. They may use information only to provide services to Vmart.
  • Business owners: if someone claims a business, we may notify that business using its public contact information.
  • Legal and safety reasons: to comply with law, legal process, or government requests, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Vmart, our users, or others.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of our business, subject to this Privacy Policy.
  • With your consent: for any other purpose with your permission.

Mobile phone numbers and text messaging consent are never shared, as explained in Section 5.

Text messaging (SMS)

How you opt in

You may agree to receive text messages from Vmart by texting Vmart first, or by giving verbal consent on a phone call with Vmart staff. When you opt in, you confirm you want to receive text messages from Vmart about your account, ad listings, payments, and support requests, and agree to receive these text messages. We send a confirmation text when you opt in.

What we send

Account notifications (such as listing approvals, expirations, payment receipts, renewals, and business claim updates) and customer support replies. We do not send marketing, promotional, or third-party messages under this program.

Frequency and cost

Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply.

Opting out and help

Reply STOP to opt out at any time; you will receive one final message confirming you are unsubscribed, and no further messages will be sent. You may also reply END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, or QUIT. Reply HELP for assistance, or contact support@vmart.market.

Consent is not a condition of purchase

You do not need to agree to receive text messages to buy any Vmart service.

What we collect

Your mobile phone number, the date, time, and method of your consent, and the content of messages you exchange with us.

No sharing of mobile information

We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or text messaging opt-in data and consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All categories of sharing described in this Privacy Policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties, except service providers that deliver our text messages on our behalf.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Payments

Payments for advertising fees are processed by Stripe, Inc. Vmart does not store your full card number. Stripe handles your payment information under its own privacy policy, available at stripe.com/privacy. Vmart does not process payments between buyers and sellers.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, keep the Services secure, and understand how the Services are used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some features may not work without them.

Mobile app permissions

The Vmart app may ask for permission to use:

  • Camera and photos: to add pictures to your listings
  • Location: to show listings near you
  • Notifications: to alert you to messages and account updates

Each permission is optional. You can turn them on or off at any time in your device settings.

Data retention and security

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Records of text messaging consent and opt-outs are kept for at least four years.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

Account and listings: you can review, update, or delete your account information and listings by signing in, or by contacting us.

When you delete your account, it is deactivated immediately and your profile and posts are hidden. You can restore it by emailing support@vmart.market within 30 days. After that, your data is deleted, except records we must keep for safety, legal, or billing reasons.

How to delete your account

  • Business directory pages: a business owner or authorized representative can claim a page, report wrong information, or request removal of a page using the links on that page or by emailing support@vmart.market.
  • Text messages: reply STOP to any Vmart text to opt out (see Section 5).
  • Emails: use the unsubscribe link in any non-essential email. We will still send account and transaction emails.
  • Location and notifications: turn these off in your device settings.
  • Access, correction, and deletion: you may ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Depending on where you live, state law may give you additional rights. To make a request, email support@vmart.market with the subject "Privacy Request." We will verify your identity before acting and respond within the time required by law. We will not discriminate against you for using these rights.

Children’s privacy

The Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Third-party links

Listings and pages may link to websites and services we do not control. This Privacy Policy does not apply to them, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the effective date above. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the Services before they take effect.
